Basilius Besler's Tulipa plate from Hortus Eystettensis, taken from Wikimedia Commons CC0 archive scan, framed and ready to hang.

Plate from Hortus Eystettensis (1613), Besler's monumental study of the Prince Bishop's Eichstätt garden. The tulip occupies the page in full colour and botanical precision — root, stem, blossom, seed pod all rendered as a complete argument about the plant's nature. Besler was a botanist and gardener, not primarily an artist, yet the plates achieve a beauty that transcends documentation. Each flower is studied in the way only someone who tended it could render it.

This is reproduced from a Wikimedia Commons CC0 archive scan at full resolution, printed on archival fine art paper and framed in solid wood.
