Zodiac — Mucha, framed
Alphonse Mucha's 1896 zodiacal circle, taken from Wikimedia Commons CC0 scan, framed and ready to hang.
Zodiac spirals inward from the twelve signs toward a luminous centre — Mucha's vision of how the cosmos organizes itself. The composition is almost mandala-like, ornament arranged into pure order. Mucha spent his career building bridges between the decorative and the mystical. This piece is where they meet. Every figure in the wheel looks both outward and inward, toward the larger pattern and toward the light.
