Georges Seurat's 1891 pointillist performance scene, The Circus, taken from Wikimedia Commons' high-resolution scan, on archival fine art paper.
Painted in 1891, The Circus is Seurat's final work. A circus ring, a white horse, acrobats in motion. The painting was never completed. We see it as Seurat left it, a moment frozen mid-stroke. There's something elegiac about an unfinished masterpiece.
