Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec's 1891 poster for the Moulin Rouge cabaret in Paris, taken from the Met's high-resolution scan, framed and ready to hang.

Toulouse-Lautrec captured the energy of Paris nightlife in a single image — La Goulue, the star of the Moulin Rouge, silhouetted in movement while the orchestra below seems to rush toward her. The composition has the immediacy of a photograph but the distortion of caricature. Lautrec lived the life he painted, knew the dancers by name, understood that spectacle and longing are two sides of the same image. The poster changed advertising forever.

This is reproduced from the Met's high-resolution archival scan, printed on archival fine art paper and framed in solid wood.
